Construction and manufacturing
- Smooth PE inner layer: the flow surface.
- Steel-wire-reinforced hollow rib: the structural part, with the wires fully encased in PE.
- Bonded outer PE protection.
- A screw extruder forms double-chamber ribbed strips with steel wire embedded.
- The strips are spiral-wound and hot-bonded into one wall.
- Outer wire and PE protection layers are added.

Applications
- Stormwater DrainageLarge-flow urban stormwater lines
- Sewer & WastewaterMunicipal and industrial gravity sewers
- CulvertsBuried high-capacity flow paths
- Industrial EffluentCorrosive and process wastewater discharge
- Sea Outfall & IntakeCoastal discharge and intake lines, by project review
Features and benefits
- Steel-wire-reinforced ribs deliver SN12.5 and SN16.
- Hollow ribs save weight; the wires are fully encased in PE.
- Virgin PE100/PE80, with no recycled material.
- Resistant to acids, alkalis and salts.
- Up to 6 m by project, with on-site production assessed above 3 m.
Jointing and installation

Heat-shrink sleeve
A sleeve lined with hot-melt adhesive is heated to shrink and bond over both pipe ends.

Sealed socket joint
A spigot end with sealing rings enters the socket end and is pushed home.

Butt-fusion welding
Cleaned and squared ends are welded with butt-fusion equipment.

Electrofusion band
The band runs at least 1.2 turns along the rib groove; seams are finished by extrusion welding.
On-site production
For pipe above 3 m in diameter, factory delivery can be compared with manufacturing at the project site.

Frequently asked questions
What is a steel-wire-reinforced HDPE structured-wall pipe?
It is a spiral-wound HDPE gravity pipe with a smooth polyethylene inner layer, hollow ribs reinforced with steel wire, and a bonded outer PE layer.
What is the largest diameter available?
The published size table runs to DN5000. Up to 6 m can be manufactured for a specific project after technical review.
What ring stiffness classes are available?
SN12.5 and SN16.
How does Type B differ from Type A?
Type B has ribs reinforced with steel wire; Type A is an all-polyethylene hollow wall with a smooth outer surface.
How are the pipes joined?
By heat-shrink sleeve, sealed socket joint, butt fusion or electrofusion band, chosen by diameter and site conditions.
Can it be produced on site?
For pipe above 3 m, on-site production can be assessed.
